Ooookay, lamest artwork EVER. I mean... waaaaaaaaaah!!??? WTF??? But an amazing black metal album from the French underground. Not LLN, but almost. Very raw vocals, distorted riffs. Yepp. Not much to talk about.

Man Bites Dog Eats Amsterdam Klezmer Band
Two new tags, hooray!! I've really been into klezmer lately and this album is great. A collaboration between Man Bites Dog (a dutch impro jazz group) and the Amsterdam Klezmer Band. Seven longish songs, each clocking over 6-7 minutes, very nice instrumentals, singing (in Russian), overall goodness. And very catchy melodies, Finn McCool, for example.

John Zorn - Chimeras
Info from the Tzadik site: "Composed throughout 2001 and previewed at the prestigious venue BargeMusic, Chimeras is a major new chamber work by John Zorn. Loosely inspired by Schoenberg's masterwork Pierrot Lunaire, and scored for the same small ensemble (plus percussion), each of the twelve movements combine different permutations of the players, climaxing with a breathtaking tutti of all eight musicians. Dramatic and colorful, with a soprano vocal part that takes virtuosity to another level, Chimeras is a work of beauty, truth and imagination. Premiere recording by a hand-picked ensemble of the best musicians in contemporary music."
It's good (;

Aarni - Bathos
I'm back, with this occult-themed Cthulhuian funeral doom, call it whatever you like. Aarni's Bathos is a hilarious record, with doom riffs, growls, synth passages, clarinet, good solos (yes, I, the non-solo-lover like the solos on this album!). Finland, Finland, Finland, the country where I want to be.
Good stuff.
